March 2018 – The new season begins at LLdV, with truly testing times for the first anglers!!!
Our season at Les Lacs du Verger started mid March this year and the first anglers to visit certainly had to endure extremely challenging weather conditions. More snow, with sub-zero temperatures: -6 deg with severe cold easterly winds – all the elements you don’t want for a fishing trip…
So, the first week was incredibly tough with only one 42.08lb carp from Orchard lake, and one loss for our anglers on Willow lake.
The following week, with water temperature still only 6.5 deg, saw slight improvements in conditions with 14 fish from Orchard lake – seven over 40lb to 46lb+. Willow lake still proved a tough prospect but as the week progressed there have definitely been positive signs of fish movement – all very encouraging!
Mike & Claire have both been very busy with landscaping duties around the complex: torrential downpours and incessant heavy rain storms have slowed the continued lake improvement plans for completion for the beginning of the new season, but they have made a great job so far – especially the extensive swim re-modelling – well done!!!
“John & Gary: Willow lake – Great venue with perfect baliffs…obviously has fantastic fish so we will be back a.s.a.p. Many thanks to Mike & Claire”
“Aaron, Tom, Mark & Dave: Orchard lake – Mike & Claire fanatastic hosts, food was exceptional… weather against us all week. Look forward to returning.”
“Mick, Terry, Glen, Toni & Ian: Orchard lake – Great lake. Have had a good time with a good few fish landed. Food was good and Claire & Mike were very pleasant!”
